Sabine Fritz joined the BMBF junior research group "CoSynHealth - Conflicts and synergies between carbon-neutral and healthy city scenarios" in June 2023 as a PostDoc. She is responsible for engaging stakeholders in the project and for designing and implementing scenario workshops for future city districts. Sabine Fritz also evaluates existing or planned networks and structures in selected cities that (should) bring together climate change, urban structures and health impacts.

Sabine Fritz developed her interest in the connection between urban space and climate and air quality during her Masters in Applied Geography at RWTH Aachen University. Following her studies, she specialised in various participation processes at the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW), especially in the projects "Stakeholder Dialogues on Climate Adaptation", "Cooperation and Participation Process for the Further Development of the German Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change" and "Networking of Adaptation Knowledge and Actors, Policy-Relevant Synthesis and Target Group-Oriented Public Relations".

At the Humboldt University of Berlin, she taught courses on climatology, physical geography in general and urban climate and air quality in particular, and worked as a student advisor. As part of her scientific work, she investigated the spatial and temporal variability of ultrafine particle concentrations in the immediate vicinity of major traffic sources in Berlin.

As a visiting scientist at the University of Hertfordshire, School of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics, Centre for Atmospheric and Climate Physics Research, Sabine Fritz was part of the organising team of the "International Conference on Air Quality - Science and Application" in 2020 and worked on the model evaluation to assess the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on air quality.
