Laura has been working as a scientist at GERICS since December 2024.
After her Bachelor's degree (B.A.) at Maastricht University, she completed the International Master of Environmental Sciences (M.Sc.) at the University of Cologne. Her thesis analysed the expectations of various stakeholder groups regarding a Just Transition of the energy-intensive industry in NRW and specifically in Duisburg. To this end, she conducted a qualitative survey and analysed secondary data. During her studies, Laura was able to gain insights into application-oriented research as a research assistant at IDOS and the Wuppertal Institute and is now particularly interested in advocating for rapid implementation in climate protection and working at the interface between politics and science.
